How to Get Your Pup to Pose For You

Recently, while working with a client and their furry friend, we faced the challenge of posing their pup onto some logs.

With a touch of patience and the right strategy, the process turned out to be easier than expected!

Here's a step-by-step guide on how we tackled the task, and re-create for yourselves:

Step 01: Grab something your dog adores – whether it's a treat, a toy, or a stick – to grab their attention.

Step 02: With the treat as your guide, gently lead your pup into the desired pose. Guide their head, and the body will follow suit. In our case, we led the dog behind some logs, lifting the treat slightly to encourage them to place their front paws on the logs.

Step 03: Once in position, smoothly introduce the "stay" command while maintaining their focus on the treat.

Step 04: Time to capture the moment! Pro tip: Enlist a second person – one to pose the pup and the other with the camera ready to snap once the stay command is given.

Step 05: Maintain the pose briefly, ensuring your dog remains calm and focused. Then, reward time! Whether it's treats, pets, or a game of fetch, choose what brings joy to your pup.

Consistency is the secret sauce! The more you practice, the smoother it gets, fostering trust between you and your furry companion.
